The age old question when things go wrong is “Who’s fault is it?”
The answer normally is nobody knows or you get two people pointing at each other saying “Its theirs”
This is true in all walks of life.
However, finally somebody has come out with some sensible guidance of how to treat agents in the Financial Services world where an Advisor and a Discretionary Fund Manager work together.
The Personal Finance Society has recently published a document entitled “Agent as Client, What you need to know”. This could finally be the industry standard and if followed by firms could help ease the problem as to identifying who is to blame when things go wrong.
You can access the document directly here for your reference, but if you would like to discuss this further please contact one of the FSTP Partners.
